Many of our clients ask us what types of things they can do to help along their search engine placement campaigns. While most of the web site optimization requires programming and technical knowledge there are several ways you can improve your placement by working on your link popularity.

For those of you that don’t know, link popularity is a measure of quantity and quality of sites that link to your site. Google has even admitted that in general a site can increase search engine positioning by building your back links.

We employ several methods for link building, such as:

  • Writing keyword driven articles for distribution
  • Search for and buying of postings on relevant industry blogs
  • Keyword optimized online press releases to news wires and ezines
  • Paid links and site wide links on large industry sites

Oh yea but we were talking about what you can do to help along our link building efforts for your campaign.

  • Search for bloggers within your field and network for additional posting opportunities
  • Write additional content for your web-site and improve overall site usability
  • Research competitor’s back links for opportunities to add your links
  • Get involved in industry forums and discussions.. be sure to link to your site
  • Obtain links from the leaders within your industry (directories, unions, etc)

So there are a lot of additional things you can do to help along your overall search engine rankings. It just requires spending some time digging in and Googleing keywords related to you site for opportunities.
